GUE Technical Fundamentals Course in Izu(Shizuoka pref)with Ryu

GUE Technical Fundamentals Course

The GUE Technical Fundamentals course is designed for experienced divers who wish to pursue GUE Technical, Rebreather, or Cave training. This course is intended to help more experienced divers refine and develop the skills required to progress into GUE’s Technical, Rebreather, or Cave programs.

Course outcomes include configuration and use of GUE equipment, trim and buoyancy control, propulsion techniques including the back kick, valve management (this course is conducted exclusively in a double-tank configuration), gas sharing, backup light placement, an introduction to basic rescue skills, and SMB deployment. The course also includes ascent training as preparation for technical diving.
Academic sessions cover dive planning, gas management, breathing gas physics, decompression, and dive safety.

Costs

  • Training fee: JPY 30,000 per day

  • GUE registration fee: USD 95

  • Gas and diving fees are at the student’s expense
    (In Izu, approximately JPY 5,000 per day)

Prerequisites

  • Submission of a completed course registration form, medical history form, and liability release form to GUE Headquarters

  • Valid dive accident insurance covering in-water emergencies

  • Non-smoker

  • Physically and mentally fit for diving

  • Minimum age: 16 years

  • Certification from a recognized training agency allowing dives to 30 meters

  • A minimum of 75 non-training dives, including at least 25 dives deeper than 21 meters

  • At least 25 non-training dives conducted in a double-tank configuration

  • If using a drysuit during the course, at least 15 non-training drysuit dives are required
