Ryu is the kindest and highly professional English speaking diving instructor in Okinawa. We had an amazing 4 days and 10 dives with Ryu exploring reefs and stunning cave and cavern landscape around Okinawa. On top of that, Ryu is an excellent underwater photographer who gifted us with some amazing shots from our dives. We would highly recommend Ryu and the Teal Orange diving center for you scuba adventures in Okinawa.
I highly recommend this dive company for anyone looking to receive a certificate for deep water diving. From start to finish, their service was top-notch, and the experience was one that i won’t soon forget. In particular, I want to give a special shout-out to my instructor, Ryuichi Yamamoto. He was absolutely amazing throughout the entire process. His passion for diving was contagious, and he went above and beyond to ensure that i were comfortable and confident every step of the way. Ryuichi Yamamoto’s expertise and guidance were invaluable, and his professionalism was second to none. He took the time to explain every aspect of the course thoroughly, and he was always patient and supportive. His enthusiasm for diving made the experience that much more enjoyable, and I know that he will inspire you to become a better diver. Overall, I can’t recommend this dive company and Ryuichi Yamamoto enough. I did 6 dives in three days and was really taken care of by Ryu. As a beginner I wanted to increase my experience and confidence and Ryu was super helpful and patient. He pushed the envelope just the right amount so that I got much better, much faster, than I expected. The rental equipment was all top notch and the service very professional. Also, the diving was pretty awesome too, Okinawa has a lot to offer.
Ryu was a great dive guide!! He provided great advice on which sites were most ideal when – probably the only one who suggested I consider diving on another day because the initial date I requested for was not ideal (really glad I listened to him!). He adjusted the dives to his divers’ abilities and was as excited about the sites and marine life I saw as I was, which made our dives quite fun. Highly recommend!
I did two dives at Sesoko Island. Everything was perfectly organized by Ryu & I really enjoyed the trip. Highly recommendable!

I just had my 3-days OWD course with Ryu. Thanks so much for his patient teaching, support, and protection during our pool training day and 4 open water dives. We have practiced a lot until I master all the basic skills.
It was intensive learning experience, yet full of fun. He knows the best diving sites around Okinawa.
We had shore dives at Sunabe, which is perfect for a new learner in terms of the proper depth and the opportunity to see a colorful and lively underwater world. We have seen so many interesting sea creatures, particularly a cute colorful octopus and a moray eel.
The boat dives at Maeda were also wonderful. While I was a bit frightened by the high tidal waves, he gave me the best support and protection. I felt very safe and could calm down to seek solutions for the problem. That is the most precious experience one could get during training course: encounter a problem and solve it in practice.
