The dive site known as “Gorilla Chop” is located in Motobu, Okinawa. The name comes from the large rock formation seen at the beginning of the video—it resembles a gorilla performing a karate chop.
The site is well-equipped with public facilities, including a parking lot, changing rooms, toilets, and showers, making it a comfortable spot for divers.
It’s about a 40-minute drive from Onna Village, a popular area in Okinawa.
The maximum depth is around 15 meters, with an average depth of 6 meters, making it ideal for a wide range of divers—from beginners to advanced. It’s also a great location for diving training and refreshers.
