Harness

The term “harness” in the context of a BCD refers to the system of straps and buckles that secure the BCD to a diver’s body Read more

Wing type BCD

A wing-shaped bladder positioned behind the diver’s back. Read more

Front adjustable type BCD

Jacket type BCD

Sidemount BCD

Designed for a configuration where the diver wears one or two tanks on their sides. Read more

The pressurized cylinder that holds the breathing gas (usually a mix of compressed air or enriched air nitrox) that divers use underwater Read more

Aluminum tank

It is a common alternative to steel tanks. Read more

Hydrostatic date

The date on which the tank underwent a hydrostatic test Read more

Stage bottle

The stage bottle is an additional breathing gas source that allows divers to execute more complex and extended dives beyond the capacity of their primary scuba tank. Read more

Pony bottle

It serves as a redundant air source. Read more

EAN

Enriched Air Nitrox (EANx) in scuba diving refers to a breathing gas mixture that contains a higher percentage of oxygen than regular air. Read more

DIN valve

The DIN valve has a threaded connection that screws directly into the tank’s valve opening. Read more

Yoke valve

Known as an “A-clamp” or “international valve,” is a type of valve used on scuba tanks to connect the regulator to the tank.

Analyzer

it is employed to determine the percentage of oxygen (O2) present in the gas mixture. Read more

DIN adapter

DIN adapter enables the use of a yoke regulator with a DIN valve tank, allowing divers to adapt their equipment to different types of tank valves commonly encountered in the diving community. Read more

Oxygen toxicity

Two types of oxygen toxicity are relevant to diving: central nervous system (CNS) oxygen toxicity and pulmonary oxygen toxicity.
